What is Plastic Injection Moulding?

Plastic injection molding is a highly prevalent manufacturing process used to fabricate plastic components for a wide range of commercial, industrial, and laboratory applications.

The injection molding process involves the use of an injection molding machine, a mold, and plastic resin raw material. The plastic resin is melted through heating, and then it is mixed and injected into the mold. Inside the mold, the material cools and solidifies, ultimately forming the finished part.

Does my part lend itself well to Plastic Injection Molding?

To assess the suitability and cost-effectiveness of producing your part using plastic injection molding, consider the following factors:

What kind of part is suitable to be run on a Plastic Injection Molding Machine?

Plastic injection molding machines are well-suited for manufacturing a variety of parts, especially thin-walled plastic components. These parts can take on various shapes, including cylindrical, cubic, or other complex profiles, and find applications in diverse fields.

For instance, thin-walled enclosures, such as plastic housings with interior bosses and ribs, are commonly produced using injection molding. These enclosures are utilized in numerous industries, including power tools and equipment, consumer electronics, household appliances, medical healthcare equipment, automotive dashboards, containers, and various other devices that benefit from the capabilities of injection molding machines.

What is the largest dimension on the part in comparison to the quantity of parts needed?

Our injection molding production lines have a maximum weight capacity of under 1,000 grams on our 500-ton injection machine. For optimal and cost-effective production, parts with a weight lower than 70 grams and dimensions smaller than 80 x 80 x 20mm are better suited for our high-speed injection molding machine.

The high-speed injection molding machine is specifically designed to handle smaller and lighter parts efficiently. By utilizing this machine for smaller parts, we can optimize production speed and achieve better cost-effectiveness.

If your parts fall within the weight and dimension specifications mentioned above, we recommend utilizing our high-speed injection molding machine for their production. This will ensure efficient manufacturing and cost savings.
